Clothing tips for your Senior portrait session

So, you’ve booked your session, and now it time to decided your wardrobe for your shoot.  I get it, planning your outfits can be fun, or stressful. That’s where I come in, I make it as stress-free as possible.  I’ll be in contact with you right up until it the day of your session.  In the meantime, here are some tips to help you out:

  • I will send you a color guide once your session is booked.  Refer to this guide to see what colors work best for your skin tone, and what colors to avoid.

  • Try to avoid fabrics that wrinkle easily, or that may cling to you in an unflattering way.

  • Pick a variety of outfits, casual and formal, to offer a change

  • Avoid too much solid black. If you opt for all black, incorporate other colors or patterns

  • Don’t be afraid of patterns, just make sure it’s not overwhelming

  • Please make sure to pick flattering fits and styles that compliment your body shape from all angles

  • Don’t forget to accessorize!!  Bring hats, scarves, necklaces, ties, watches, etc.

  • Most importantly, be yourself.  Select clothing that you’ll be comfortable in, not clothing that will have you focusing on fixing the majority of the session.

Follow these tips, and you can’t go wrong. And I’m here to help you through the whole process. Because the end result is for you to have the most AMAZING portraits!
